HEREDITARY CONDITIONS
We’ll cover conditions your breed is prone to inheriting.
Examples:
- Elbow and hip dysplasia
- Diabetes
- Upper respiratory infections
- Thyroid disease
UNIDENTIFIED ISSUES
Even if your pet doesn’t have an official diagnosis, we’ll cover you.
Examples:
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Cough
- Change in weight
CONGENITAL CONDITIONS
We’ll cover conditions your pet has developed before birth.
Examples:
- Heart disease
- Nervous system issues
- Cataracts
- Liver disease
Whatever medical procedures your cat or dog needs for those unexpected injuries and illnesses, we’ll cover. That includes things like: Diagnostic tests, Surgeries, Hospital stays, Medications, Veterinary supplements, Herbal therapy, Prosthetic devices and carts
Just know that our policy isn’t designed to cover the things that happened before you became a member. Conditions that showed signs during waiting periods or before you enrolled are considered pre-existing and are not eligible for coverage.
We also offer additional ways to complement your cover.
These riders are available at an additional cost.
Recovery and Complementary Care Rider: Extend your Trupanion cover to include acupuncture, behavioral modification, chiropractic, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, naturopathy, physical therapy, and rehabilitative therapy.
Breeding Rider: We can extend our cover to certain health conditions associated with breeding dogs and cats, including medically-necessary C-section births.
Pet Owner Assistance Package: Trupanion can help with health expenses beyond the veterinarian’s office. This rider will extend coverage to include advertising (including a reward) for lost pets, boarding fees for your pet in the event you are hospitalized, liability coverage for third-party property damage, cremation or burial for deaths due to an accident, and even holiday vacation cancellation costs.
